July 4, 2026, marks 250 years of the American Dream. It’s a significant milestone. But it comes at a time when the United States seems noticeably disunited. With that in mind, we set out to write an American anthem—not a hymn or a partisan political statement—based on the Declaration of Independence. The result is “We Hold These Truths.” America’s Founders believed that God created all people equal and gave them inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These truths are still worth holding, defending, and celebrating today.
