Everyone desires to be happy, longs to be satisfied, and desperately searches for something or someone that will finally fulﬁll those unmet expectations. In reality, happiness and satisfaction are temporary, and searching for them can lead to discontentment and wanting more. Chasing the desires of one’s own heart, apart from Jesus, is futile. The Bible states that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). The only One Who can fulfill desires, satisfy longing souls (Psalm 107:9), and exceed expectations is Jesus! In His presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11)! Jesus Christ alone is all we need! As we pursue knowing and loving Jesus, we will understand the truth of Scripture that Jesus is Better.

Why is Christmas so special to believers? On Christmas day, we commemorate a one-of-a-kind, historical event when God entered the world as a tiny baby. Our God is transcendent and cannot be confined by place or time, yet He was born at one time and in one place. There was an actual “silent night” in a little town named Bethlehem. There were actual cattle and sheep in a real stable. There was an actual angel chorale proclaiming to astonished shepherds! And, yes, there was an actual “new and glorious morn” when, for the first time ever, the world had a real reason for hope and joy. In old classics and new songs, we remember that actual day as we Worship the
Newborn King together!

Matt and Christy Taylor have been involved in the ministry of The Wilds since the summer of 2000. Before coming on full-time staff in 2005, they traveled with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team, ministering musically across the country. As Music Director, Matt oversees both on-site music ministry and music publications at The Wilds. The Taylors have contributed to numerous recordings both for The Wilds and other ministries, including three previous duet albums: Gentle Voice, Everlasting Praise, and Be Our God. Matt and Christy also serve at Bethany Baptist Church in Brevard, North Carolina, where Matt leads the worship services. They are passionate about leading and producing music that is fresh, theologically rich, and easily accessible so that God’s people can fervently worship together in song. Matt and Christy are blessed with three boys: Braden, Bryce, and Ian, who are their greatest earthly treasures.

Men have the responsibility to lead with a faith in God that does not stagger even during the difficult times. Every song fairly bursts with reasons why we should willingly follow this One Sovereign Lord. His love persuades us to praise Him for His power and greatness. His steadfast love compels us to give everything for Christ!

In Faith I Follow expresses a child of God’s simple desire to walk in submission to the Master’s will. God’s will may lead down unexpected paths with sharp turns and dangerous obstacles. This path will often be dark and uncertain, yet God’s child seeks to trust his Master’s leading. In the Old Testament, Joseph is a wonderful example of this faith-filled following. Though he didn’t understand God’s plan or know the “end of the story,” he trusted God’s leading. Through faith and trust we too can follow when the way is unclear. For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). This faith allows the child of God to see past the difficulty during the storms of life and to focus on God’s divine providence and unwavering character. He is good. He is in control. He is love. He is unchanging. We trust this recording will increase your faith in Him no matter where the path may lead.
